(1) Polres berkedudukan di kabupaten/kota/kawasan tertentu.
(2) Polres sebagaimana dimaksud pada ayat (1), terdiri atas:
a. tipe A yaitu Polres Kota Besar;
b. tipe B yaitu Polres Metropolitan;
c. tipe C yaitu Polres Kota; dan
d. tipe D yaitu Polres.
