Article 1

Mengesahkan Convention on the Rights of the Child (Konvensi tentang Hak-Hak Anak) yang telah ditandatangani oleh Pemerintah Republik INDONESIA di New York, Amerika Serikat, pada tanggal 26 Januari 1990, sebagai hasil sidang Majelis Umum Perserikatan Bangsa Bangsa yang diterima pada tanggal 20 Nopember 1989 dengan pernyataan (declaration), yang salinan naskah aslinya dalam bahasa Inggeris sebagaimana terlampir pada Keputusan ini.

Article 2

Keputusan PRESIDEN ini mulai berlaku pada tanggal diundangkan. Agar setiap orang mengetahuinya, memerintahkan pengundangan Keputusan PRESIDEN ini dengan penempatannya dalam Lembaran Negara Republik INDONESIA. MOERDIONO LEMBARAN NEGARA REPUBLIK INDONESIA TAHUN 1990 NOMOR 57 LAMPIRAN : PERNYATAAN (DECLARATION) The 1945 Constitution of the Republic of INDONESIA guarantees the fundamental rights of the child irrepective of their sex, ethnic or race. The Constitution prescribes those rights to be implemented by national laws and regulations. The ratification of the Convention on the Right of the Child by the Republic of INDONESIA does not imply the acceptance of obligations going beyond the Constitutional limits nor the acceptance of any obligation to introduce any right beyond those prescribed under the Constitution. With reference to the provisions of Articles 1, 14, 16, 17, 21, 22 and 29 of this Convention, the Government of the Republic of INDONESIA declares that it will apply these articles in conformity eith its Constitution.
